my shovel is sharp, my pick is sharp, and my will is outstanding

This weekend brought an end to another pretty lame, yet entertaining year of sports for me.

On Saturday Cal beat "Tha U" with a Nate Longshore TD in the fourth quarter. It has to be rough getting beat by a guy who makes Kirby Freeman seem like a starting D-1 quarterback.

Then we got to watch UFC 92. Cheick Kongo beat Mustapha al-Turk in a knee-to-the-groin competition, before Quinton Rampage Jackson knocked Wandy Silva's head into the fourth row with a vicious left hook. Later in the night, Rashad Evans won the light heavyweight title in a fight that included one of the greatest swag moments (thanks NT) in fighting history.

Finally, on Sunday, the Niners finished their season with a comeback win against the Redskins. No guff coach Mike Singletary was re-upped, and the future seems a little less dim than before. Also, the Lions finished 0-16, and even better than that, the Cowboys pulled a choke job for the ages.

In other news, the Kings lost to the Celtics by 45 points. The quest for lottery balls continues. Ricky Rubio is going to freak out when everything in Sacramento other than this store is closed at 11pm.

Take us away Coach Singletary
